Senior Leadership Team
Eiron Bailey
Headteacher
Eiron previously held the post of Director of Music Specialism and Assistant Principal at BCCS and was a Senior Education Adviser to Bristol Plays Music. He chairs the Heads of Music forum for Bristol and has been a keynote speaker at a number of conferences and training events. He has worked in five very different schools across the UK and is also a very busy music conductor and performer. Eiron was appointed as Musical Director of the Bristol Youth Orchestra in 2013.
Kate Fiddian
Deputy Headteacher
Kate is an experienced senior leader, previously holding the positions of Vice Principal, Deputy Headteacher and Assistant Headteacher in schools in and around Bristol. Earlier in her career, Kate was a successful Head of Science and Lead Practitioner. In recent years, Kate has led curriculum development, teaching and learning and staff development, alongside overseeing significant school improvement projects leading to improved educational outcomes in a number of schools.
Kieran Smith
Deputy Headteacher
Kieran trained to teach through Teach First before working as a subject leader for Religion and Philosophy, and a Head of Humanities in schools in London and Bristol. Most recently, he was Assistant Headteacher and Head of Sixth Form at a high-attaining secondary school in Bristol. Kieran holds an MA in Theology from the University of Edinburgh and an MA in Educational Leadership from UCL.
Jamie Godden
Assistant Headteacher
Jamie has previously been Head of Phase 3/Raising Attainment at Trinity Academy and led the Year 11 team through our first set of GCSE results. Before that he has been a Head of Humanities/Geography at various schools across Bristol and London. Jamie originally trained to be a teacher in Leeds and was also involved in the creation and implementation of a brand new curriculum at a new startup school in Hackney.
Imogen MacMillan
Assistant Headteacher
Imogen has taught in schools across London and Bristol, holding roles including Head of Maths, Head of House and Lead Teacher for Underperforming Groups. She believes that every child should feel safe and celebrated at school, and has run several award-winning EDI initiatives. Imogen joined the teaching profession through Teach First, following an LLB Law, MSc in Organisational Human Resource Management and a career in financial services.
Tamsin Griffiths
Assistant Headteacher
Tamsin graduated from the University of Oxford with a MA in Modern History before converting to law. She subsequently qualified as a Barrister, specialising in Police Law. Whilst training, she spent 3 months working with prisoners on death row in the Caribbean. Following qualification, she spent 10 years working as police lawyer both in London and then for Devon and Cornwall Constabulary. In 2015, she transferred from law to business management in the education sector. She was part of a senior leadership team responsible for overseeing the change her primary school's Ofsted rating from 'Requires Improvement' to 'Good'. Tamsin is passionate about bringing legal rigor to school finances and resources to ensure every penny is spent to enhance every child's learning experience.
Sarah O'Brien
Asssistant Headteacher / Designated Safeguarding Lead
Sarah previously held the post of Assistant Headteacher at a comprehensive school in South Gloucestershire. Over the 6 and a half years spent there she held a variety of academic leadership positions including Head of Humanities and Raising Standards Leader for Year 11, leading these areas to the school's most successful set of GCSE outcomes to date. Sarah then went on to develop a passion for, and expertise in, pastoral care and safeguarding in secondary education, becoming Designated Safeguarding lead. Sarah completed her PGDE at the University of Sheffield and before that graduated from the University of York with a BA in History.
Ben Schober
Head of Sixth Form and Associate Assistant Headteacher
Ben has a wealth of experience working with post 16 students in large schools in Liverpool and Bristol. He has previously been a Head of House, led on whole school work experience placements and held the post of Head of Biology. In a previous post he was the IB Coordinator in a large 6th Form which involved leading a globally themed post 16 pathway. He was also Assistant Head of Operations, Planning and Co-curricular at his previous school in Bristol. He has spent many years working alongside post 16 students to allow them to fulfil their ambitions at university, on apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships and in the world of work.
